Viognier is a white grape variety that is continuing to grow in popularity in Australia. Contributing to this popularity is its versatility in food and wine matching. Viognier is a great summer wine and its pairing with seafood, especially oysters is tried and tested. Match it with fresh panfried fish or delicious summer salads. With its full flavoured, textured palate Viognier also stands up well against winter fare such as creamy casseroles, chicken dishes, rice, pasta and spicy asian food.
If you have a favourite recipe to match the Tallis Dookie Hills Viognier we would love to see it.

Viognier is one of my favourite wines in summer. What would be a good one for winter?
Viognier is a great fresh white. I do agree that this white is fantastic with seafood but I also love it with a warm sunny day.
Hi Charlie, welcome to our blog, and thanks for your question. If you love Viognier then you might like to try our Shiraz Viognier blend as a red wine winter option. Our blend is called the Tallis Silent Showman Shiraz Viognier and shows hints of the fragrant apricot aromas typical of viognier mingled with rich shiraz berry characters. This blend is a favourite with out Tallisman members so definitely worth a try.
Welcome to the Tallis Wine blog Bernie, great to have your aboard. Viognier certainly does seem to be getting quite a following here in Australia, and while its versatility with food has contributed, Viognier also stands up well on its own making it just lovely to sip on a balmy summers day. I’m already looking forward to summer rolling around again.
