Notes: Youthful pale straw in colour. Appearance of a wine 2-3 years old.
Intense aromas of ripe orange, mandarin, and citrus blossom. Some aged notes showing as a hint of marmalade.
The palate is a little mature and this wine does taste like a 5 year old wine. Not a negative, but not as youthful as the 2016 and 17. The palate is quite firm and drying and suggests perhaps some botrytis in 2018 which we don’t recall as a feature of the season. (Perhaps we had to press this wine harder and retain more pressing for some reason)
2018 was generally a very good year for both whites and reds.
