Our Silent Showman range of wines are named in honour of Sir George Tallis (Richard’s great grandfather), who was a live theatre entrepreneur in the 1920s and the man behind the world's largest entertainment organization J.C. Williamson, Melbourne. He was a quiet man, not given to self-promotion hence he was known as The Silent Showman.
Three generations on, Sir George’s great grandson, winemaker Richard Tallis, acknowledges these accomplishments with the release of a Silent Showman range. Produced on the family property, fruit for these wines is selected from the vineyard’s best parcels. Old world techniques including open fermenters, hand plunging and ageing in new French and American oak add flavor, complexity and unique textural qualities.
